Features
- The belt pellet dryer in combination with dewatering unit can be used to assist in drawing strips, which can be used to reduce the fracture of tension strips, particularly for requirements of a high yield and high fill granulation.
- The Belt Pellet Dryer in Combination with Dewatering Unit does not scratch particle surfaces because there is no friction with the material.
- It is equipped with spray, dehydration and auxiliary heating process conditions.
- It is convenient to clean with a mesh belt design, which saves more than 80% of the cleaning time over a traditional centrifugal dewatering machine.
Operational Principle
The strips are cooled through a spraying process on the traction transport using a mesh belt. A negative high pressure air stream is used to remove the moisture from the strips, thus dehydrating and drying them, with the air pressure generated using a high pressure fan.
What is belt pellet dryer in combination with dewatering unit?
A belt pellet dryer in combination with dewatering unit is mainly applied in the strand pelletizing production lines for modified plastics, engineering plastics, masterbatch, thermoplastic elastomers, and recycled plastics.
The belt pellet dryer supports and conveys the fresh plastic strands discharged from the extrusion die with the continuously running mesh belt. During the conveying, the belt pellet dryer completes spray cooling, negative-pressure suction dewatering and auxiliary hot-air drying to reduce remaining moisture on the material surface. Then the belt pellet dryer will stably convey the plastic strands to the pelletizer.
Compared with water-bath cooling and manual strand handling, the belt pellet dryer provides continuous support with the mesh belt, reducing sagging, crossing and breaking caused by self-weight, unstable pulling and excessive unsupported span. The belt pellet dryer is suitable for low-strength strands, highly filled strands and high-output strand pelletizing applications.
Applications
The belt pellet dryer can be applied in:
- Modified engineering plastics manufacturing
- Color and functional masterbatch manufacturing
- Highly filled masterbatch and mineral-filled compound manufacturing
- TPE, TPR, TPU, and other thermoplastic elastomer manufacturing
- Recycled plastics modification and pelletizing
- Integration into twin-screw extrusion pelletizing line
- Pelletizing lines with frequent strand breakage
- Upgrading existing water bath cooling and strand dewatering processes
